To sent letters or parcels quickly within one or two days we can use Speed Post service offered by the post offices or courier services offered by private agencies like Bluedart, DTDC, Gati, etc. To send urgent messages to someone within a few hours telegram services were used. In the year 2013, telegram services has been stopped in India.
Tele Communication
Telephone is the fastest means of communication. Telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell. Through telephone we can instantly talk to our relatives or friends in our own city, in another city. To make a call in another city we can make STD (Subscriber Trunk Dialing) and to make a call in foreign countries we can make ISD (International Subscriber Dialing) call. We can also send SMS (Short Message Service) instantly through our mobile phones. Fax machines are used to sent written messages instantly.
Computers and the Internet have made communication even more faster and efficient. We can use email services such as Gmail and Yahoo mail to send e-mails (electronic mails) instantly through internet.
Mass Communication
Mass communication is a process in which a person, a group of people, or an organization sends a message through a channel of communication to a large number of people at the same time.
